Recently, Atiyya Shaw, a Georgia Tech Ph.D. Candidate in the Transportation Engineering program, was selected for the 2015 Georgia Section of the American Society of Highway Engineers' (ASHE) Babs Abubakari Memorial Scholarship.
Atiyya received her undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2014, and she's been pursuing her graduate degree since then. Following her graduate education, she plans to continue her career in transportation engineering research and education. She will receive her award at an awards luncheon in January 2016.
The Georgia Section of ASHE awards the Babs Abubakari Memorial Scholarship to a deserving college student pursuing a degree in civil engineering from Georgia Tech, in memory of Babs Abubakari, a Georgia Tech graduate, Georgia Department of Transportation employee, and ASHE member.
